This course will introduce you to the basic concepts of scuba diving with different gas mixes which will allow you to stay at shallower depths for way longer than normal breathing air will allow. A lot of dive centres offer this as a freebie nowadays so you might as well take advantage of it by taking this course and learning how to use Enriched Air/ Nitrox. get in contact to book on your course or Click here to find out more

25 of January Nemo 33

A trip to Nemo 33 is a great way to get a bit of warm water diving in during the UK winter. It is just a Eurostar train ride away and for just 30 Euros per dive, a cheap way of keeping your skills and experience up plus if you like I would be happy to use this trip as a chance for you guys to do the deep dive of your PADI advanced course. From the video, you can see it is an indoor swimming pool just for scuba divers with a section which goes down to just below 30 metres but what you can't see is that the water is 33 degrees Celsius so it will be one of the warmest dives you will ever do. There is also a lovely Thai restaurant attached to the pool where we can go for lunch afterwards before getting the train home.

8th of February, Dive Club Social
Dinner and bowling at the Stevenage Pleasure complex
This is the first dive club social of the year, and it is a chance to meet other dive club members away from dive trips and courses and relax with others with whom you share at least one interest. We will be going for Dinner around 6 pm and then on for a couple of games of Bowling and a few drinks afterwards.

9th of February Dry dive

Join us on the 9th of February at Whipps Cross Hospital for a trip in the compression chamber to 40 metres. and experience what its like to deep dive while in the safety of a Hospital compression chamber with a specialist nurse. We can get the train down to start the experience on Sunday morning, you will be given a briefing and change into medical scrubs for the experience. You will be pressurized to the equivalent of 40 metres scuba diving depth so you can feel the effects it will have on your mind and body. Afterwards, you are given a talk by one of the nurses about the effects of pressure on your body while scuba diving. The cost for the experience is just £50 and for an extra £25 you can get the PADI chamber awareness speciality. We can then go down the pub for Lunch.

22nd of February Dry suit course
We will be spending the day at Stoney Cove to complete the PADI dry suit course. This course includes the dive theory, a pool session at either our Bedford or Cambridge pool and two dives at Stoney Cove so you can learn the safety skills needed to safely scuba dive in a dry suit. The dry suit allows you to stay dry and adjust the thermal protection letting you scuba dive in a wider range of water temperatures. If you would like to know more about this course or sign up for it please click here
Non-member course price £249  dive club members price £199

5th and 6th of April, Qualifying weekend at Capenwary.

The first qualifying weekend for the year so a chance to refresh those dive skills or join a course would like to do. This will be at Capenwary but as it's before Easter the accommodation will be really cheap. We will be running open water and advanced courses plus if you let me know early enough I would be happy to run a speciality course if you want. You can also just come along for a few fun dives if you like and just explore the best inland scuba diving lake in the UK.

7th to the 14th of April, Sharm El Shack dive trip
We will be staying and diving with Camel Divers, one of the oldest and most respected dive companies in Egypt. It is £620 plus flights for 7-night accommodation and breakfast, airport transfers, and 10 guided boat dives to some of the best diving the Red Sea has to offer. We will be finishing off some courses over there including the PADI Open Water course so if you want to learn how to scuba dive but don't fancy UK diving in April please get in contact with us as we can sort the course out for you so that you complete the theory and pool work here in the UK and the open water dives in Egypt.

26th of April Swange dive trip
We are heading down to Swanage for a couple of shallow wreck dives which are perfect for those who wish to build up your dive experience or if you just want to get in teh water again after the winter break. The plan is to dive the Fluer and the Valentine tanks, both of which are around the 14-metre mark. This early season trip should give us really good visibility as it should be before the plankton bloom starts. Both boat trips will be on the Mary Jane dive boat with Byran as our skipper so we will be in some very experienced hands for our dive trip. The entry fee for teh pier is £7.50 and each boat dive is £40. The spaces are limited so please let me know ASAP if you would like to join our first sea diving trip of the season.
